Privacy policy

Summe · Last updated 15 October 2026 (v1.9) · Terms of use

Short version: we do not collect, store or see your invoices, your clients or your business details. They stay in your browser and, if you turn on sync, in your own Google Drive.

Your invoices, clients and settings

Everything you type in Summe is saved in your own browser on your device. It is not sent to our servers. You are the only one responsible for and in control of that information, including any personal data of your clients that you enter.

Sync with Google Drive (optional, Pro)

If you choose to turn on sync, your browser saves a file called “Summe data.json” directly in your own Google Drive, using your Google account. The data goes from your browser to Google; it never passes through our servers and we cannot access it.

Summe's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use, sell or transfer Google user data for any other purpose.

Pro licenses

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller and handles payment, taxes and receipts under its own privacy policy. When you activate a license, the app sends your license key and a device label (for example “Mac · Chrome”) to Lemon Squeezy through our server to check it is valid and to count your devices. Our server does not store this information.

Hosting

The app is served by Cloudflare. Like any website, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. We do not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.

Feedback

If you use “Send feedback” in the app, we receive only what you write, the feature it is about, whether you use Pro, and your email if you choose to add it. We do not record your IP address or anything about your device. Feedback is deleted automatically after 180 days, or earlier if you ask us.

Invoices, taxes and your country

Summe helps you design and export invoice and quote documents as editable PDF files. It is not a certified invoicing or accounting system, and it does not submit anything to any tax authority.

Tax names, rates and numbering are set by you. You are responsible for making sure your invoices meet the rules of your country. In some countries a PDF invoice is not enough for some or all businesses — for example, structured e-invoices between businesses in Belgium (from 2026) and Italy, certified software in Portugal, and Verifactu in Spain. If in doubt, check with your accountant.
