How it works without an account
Summe runs in your browser. Everything you type (your details, your clients, your invoices) is saved on your device as you go. There is no account because there is nothing to log in to: your invoices never reach our servers.
Close the tab and come back later in the same browser, and your invoices are still there.
Keeping your invoices safe
- Download a backup file whenever you want. It holds all your invoices and clients, and you can load it on another device.
- Keep the PDFs you send in a folder, as you would with any document.
- With Pro, turn on sync: your invoices go to your own Google Drive and come back on up to 5 of your devices.
- Clearing your browser’s data deletes what’s saved in it, so make a backup first.
What to put on your invoice
- Your name or business name, address and tax ID if you have one.
- Your client’s name, address and tax ID if they have one.
- An invoice number, the issue date and a due date.
- Each item or service on its own line, with quantity and price.
- Tax, the total and how to pay you.
Why no sign-up
Most invoice tools ask for an account because they keep your data on their servers. That means another password, marketing emails, and your clients’ details on someone else’s computer.
Summe keeps everything on your device instead. It is also why it’s quick: no dashboard and no onboarding, just the invoice.
Free or Pro
Free has unlimited invoices in the Grid design, saved clients, credit notes and backups, with a small “Made with Summe” line on the PDF.
Pro is one payment, with no subscription and still no account: you paste the license key you get by email. It adds the other designs, colours and languages, quotes and deposits, reminders and sync.
Tips
- Fill in your details once; Summe remembers them for the next invoice.
- Save your regular clients so their address and terms are filled in for you.
- Use the same numbering from the first invoice, and never reuse a number.
- Make a backup before you change browser or phone.

Do I need an account?
No. Open the app and start typing. There is no sign-up, no email and no card.
Where are my invoices saved?
In your browser, on your device. They never go through our servers. With Pro you can also sync them to your own Google Drive.
What if I clear my browser or lose my phone?
Download a backup whenever you want, or turn on sync with Pro: your invoices go to your own Google Drive and come back on any device.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Summe works in the browser on your phone and computer, even offline.
Do you see my clients or amounts?
No. Your invoices, clients and amounts stay on your device. We never receive them.
Is it free?
